    Although polar bears appear to be soft and snuggly, they are actually quiteferocious. Hugging a real polar bear would not be wise, although ornamentalpolar bears make wonderful Christmas decorations. Polar bears are able tosurvive in a sea ice habitat. They are usually found in Alaska, Canada,Russia, Greenland and Norway. They are at the top of the food chain in Arcticareas, where they prey on seals. Their paw pads have rough surfaces, whichhelps prevent them from slipping on the ice in their freezing environment.Strong swimmers, they can propel themselves through the water with ease.
    Adult male polar bears usually weigh between 351 and 554 kg, while thefemales typically weigh between 149 and 294 kg. The females sometimesweigh even more when they prepare to have their cubs. Fortunately, thisdisplay is not as heavy as a real polar bear, but is one of the most loveable ofthe Christmas decorations featuring an animal. The beautifully textured spunacrylic bear is sitting down, and is covered with 48 white static burn LEDlights. Measuring 300mm x 285mm x 100mm, the decoration can bedisplayed either indoors or outdoors.
    Polar bears are most active in winter, which is probably why they havebecome popular Christmas decorations, in the northern hemisphere. They arethe largest of all bears, and the largest land predator. This display, however,is not very predatory in appearance, but more along the lines of cute andcuddly.
